My Irish Pedigree
My Birthday is August 22nd. That’s the last day of the Feast of Our Lady of Knock; the first day the French invaded Killala, Mayo, in the “Year of the French”; and the day Michael Collins, the greatest of all Irish Patriots, was assassinated. I bought my Irish seaside cottage on the Wild Atlantic Way, twenty years before The Way was dubbed that. Now that I have paid off the mortgage, I have some things to say about life in Ireland today.
My US Pedigree
I am a Philly Girl born and bred. I grew up in an Irish Catholic working class neighborhood and wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact I still live and work in an Irish Catholic working class neighborhood in the City of Brotherly Love. It gives me a good perspective on life in the Old and New Sods of the twentieth century. I hope you agree.
